The Banagher St Patrick’s Day Parade takes place annually on March 17th, kicking off in the afternoon. It is a massive local community event along the Main Street in Banagher featuring bands, floats, street entertainment and family activities. It will be kicking off at 3 pm.

The Clara St. Patrick’s day Parade in County Offaly celebrated its 50 golden jubilee on March 17th, 2026 and featured around 80 floats. The festivities began with a live morning concert in the square, featuring the James Kinsella Céilí Band and notable performers before the grand parade.

The Kilcormac St. Patrick’s Day Parade took place on Tuesday, March 17th, 2026 and is kicking off at 3.30pm. The procession departed from the Kilcormac-Killoughey GAA Field on the Birr Road, winding through the town to celebrate local community pride, creative displays and fancy dress. The parade will be gathering at Kilcormac GAA pitch at 3.00pm before the march begins.

The Edenderry St Patrick’s Day Parade in 2026 kicked off at 2:30pm in the Town Centre. The highly anticipated community event featured local clubs, marching bands, colourful floats and live entertainment.

The Tullamore St. Patrick’s Day Parade is one of the largest celebrations in the Midlands, traditionally kicking off at 11:30am on the 17th of March 2026. The event features vibrant floats, marching bands like the National Ambulance Service Pipe Band and community activities spanning across the hearts of the town.

Tullamore Tradfest took place over the weekend of March 27th to 29th, 2026. The festival featured over 50 events, including headline concerts, an inclusive Trad session, recitals and a lively “Session Trail” across various pubs and gathering spots in Tullamore County Offaly. The weekend featured performances from groups such as Tara Breen, Jim Murray & Padraig Rynne, the West Kerry musical collective CUAS and the late-night group Peter Street.

The Birr Theatre of Music & Video celebrated its 10th anniversary across the May Bank Holiday weekend (April 30th to May 4th, 2026). The festival featured classical music, swing, community choir performances and the prestigious Trench Award for emerging artists.

The Riverfest Music Festival in County Offaly takes place on the banks of the River Shannon at the historic Luker’s Bar in Shannonbridge. The independent, multi-genre festival combines live Irish music, wellness activities (yoga & morning swims), artisan markets and riverside fire showcases.

The 2026 Slieve Bloom Walking Festival was a special edition celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Slieve Bloom Walking Club. It will be running from Saturday May 2nd to Monday May 4th (the May Bank Holiday weekend), the festival features a variety of guided, multi-grade hikes across the spectacular Slieve Bloom Mountains. the festival offers Grad A, B & C Walks.

The Blacktorn Festival is a growing boutique one-day festival held in the Midlands of Ireland, specifically at the Gracefield GAA Grounds on the Offaly/Laois border near Portarlington. It will start running from 2:30pm to 10:00pm.

The 2026 Bog Trotters Festival in Clara, County Offaly, is a nature-based event celebrating peatland heritage, likely held around Solstice in June. It features guided bog walks, workshops, music and for 2026, it will feature the continued Bog Bothy Tour (A partnership with the Irish Architecture Foundation)

Scripts Ireland’s Playwriting Festival 2026 takes place from the 2nd to 5th of July 2026 in Birr, County Offaly. It is featuring professional mentored and staged readings of new works.

The Edenderry Music Festival for 2026 takes place at the Edenderry GAA Grounds in County Offaly, featuring a "Big Top Marquee". The headline acts include The Tumbling Paddies on the Saturday Night & Mac Fleetwood on the Friday Night.

That Beats Banagher Festival returns to Banagher, County Offaly from July 24th to 26th, 2026. Celebrating the town’s history and community, the 2026 event will feature live music, heritage walks, Shannon boat trips, open mic sessions and the blacksmithing and iron smelting. The Fire Festival (Forged in Ireland/Furnance festival) featuring 40 blacksmiths, iron smelting workshops and the “Long Puck” across the River Shannon.

The Battle of the Blacksmiths is a premier, fast-paced blacksmithing competition held during the annual That Beats Banagher Festival in Banagher County Offaly. Some of the stuff they will be doing is showcasing traditional forging skills, bog iron smelting and intense competitions like the “Golden Anvil” challenge.

The Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival for 2026 is scheduled for Friday, July 31st to Saturday August 8th 2026. This annual week-long event in Birr, County Offaly features a vintage parade, street theatre, live music, a festival gig rig, an antique and fine art fair, fireworks and numerous community events, drawing roughly 6,000 attendees.

The 2026 Tullamore Show & FBD National Livestock Show is scheduled for Sunday, August 9th for 2026, at the Butterfield estate in Blueball Tullamore, County Offaly. As Ireland’s premier one-day agricultural event, it features over 1,000 competitions, massive livestock entries and around 700 trade stands, expected to attract 60,000 visitors.

The Blackbull Annual Threshing Festival is scheduled for Sunday August 23rd 2026, in Sharavogue, Birr, County Offaly. The National Ploughing Championships attracted a record-breaking visitors again last year over the three days and is Europe’s largest outdoor exhibition & agricultural trade show. The 2026 Ploughing Championships will take place in Screggan in Tullamore, County Offaly. The Ploughing Championships was held on the same farm in 2016, 2017 & 2018 hosted by Joe Grogan RIP.

The OFFline Film Festival for 2026 will take place from the 7th to 11th of October 2026, primarily in Birr, County Offaly with expanded screenings in Tullamore and Banagher.

The Slieve Bloom Storytelling Festival is an annual event held in the Slieve Bloom Mountains of Laois & Offaly, Ireland typically taking place in mid November. The festival features local storytelling, music, dance & song celebrating the oral traditions and folklore of the region.

Hullabaloo! Offaly’s Children’s Arts Festival is an annual, four-day mid-term break event (typically late October/early November) dedicated to children aged 3 – 12, featuring workshops, theatre and art in Birr, Tullamore, Edenderry, Clara & Kilcormac.

Puca Spooka is a popular, family-friendly Halloween Festival located in Lloyd Town Park in Tullamore, County Offaly. Traditionally held over two days in late October. The event promises to transform Lloyd Town Park into a haunted wonderland or two days of thrills and chills.
