Invitation for Expression of Interests

Offaly Local Development Company invites Expression of Interests from Community/Voluntary Groups who are struggling with rising energy costs and want to reduce overheads while addressing climate change.

This Targeted Call falls under Téama 3: Forbairt Inbhuanaithe an Chomhshaoil Tuaithe agus Maolú agus Oiriúnú Athraithe Aeráide / Theme 3: Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation.

The rationale for this action is that it is critical to reducing overheads for community-owned buildings, helping them remain viable while actively addressing climate change.

This initiative will provide support for capital costs associated with enhancing water quality, promoting water conservation, and sustainable water usage practices.

Call Criteria and Application Details

Programme Theme and Project Rationale

The call operates under Téama 3 / Theme 3: Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment and Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation. The sub-theme is Fothéama: 3a / Sub Theme: 3a Sustainable Development of the Rural Environment.

The core rationale is to address the need for reducing overheads in community-owned buildings due to rising energy costs, while simultaneously supporting climate action.

Budget and Grant Aid Structure

The total Budget for this Targeted Call is €75,000.

The maximum level of funding available per project is Up to €7,500.00.

The minimum level of funding is €1,250.00.

The maximum rate of grant aid provided is 75% for community projects (capital).

Eligible Projects and Target Groups

This initiative will provide support for capital costs associated with enhancing water quality, promoting water conservation, and sustainable water usage practices. This includes initiatives such as rainwater harvesting, recycled water usage within premises, filtration systems, etc.

The Target Groups are Community/Voluntary groups. The Geographic Area is All of Co. Offaly; however, priority will be given to ensure Communities who have not accessed Leader funding across the County receive support.

Application Timeline and Contact Information

The call is open for Expression of Interest forms on 3rd December 2024 and closes at 4pm on 20th December 2024.

Projects will be selected based on the submission of fully completed applications and supporting documentation, subject to Evaluation recommendation and Offaly Local Development Company for approval. All successful EOIs will be invited to submit a full Application for consideration for LEADER funding.
