About the Shop

The Pullough Community Shop was developed in response to local rural decline after the last shop closed, eliminating the central space for people to casually meet in the village. A group came together to combat this change in environment and opened a shop run by local volunteers in June 2017.

While operating as a shop, the space has now become a hub for community activity with seasonal events being run and has become a vital focal point for the village.

  • It hosts seasonal events being run at Easter, Christmas and Summer.
  • The side room in the shop has become multifunctional with a primary focus on encouraging youth activities.
  • A youth group developed from this space and became so big that it eventually moved to the local community centre.
  • Ancillary facilities like purchasing stamps and an ATM machine are also available through the shop.
