About the Project

The Moneygall Community Garden was born from a genuine interest in health and sustainable living in the rural community. This dedicated group successfully applied for and developed a large indoor and outdoor growing area at the back of the local soccer field.

The Garden operates with a focus on shared knowledge and communal work, encouraging any member of the community to join their weekly work plan.

Produce & Resource Sharing

Produce, Skills, and Resource Sharing

  • The garden yields a huge variety of vegetables on offer throughout the growing season.
  • The expertise of the green fingered is shared amongst all members, helping to build local capacity.
  • The produce is used by the volunteers, and all excess is sold locally through private customers or the local shop in Dunkerin.

  • The group undertakes training courses both on and offsite.
  • Focus is on sharing knowledge and practical expertise in gardening and sustainable living.
