About the Centre

The Clara Family Resource Centre offers a family support service delivered through the ethos of Community Development. The centre provides a vital focal point for the community and works towards building the capacity of local people to participate fully in society and to improve people’s quality of life.

The Clara Resource Shop: Trading for Impact

The Clara Resource Shop is a community shop selling both pre-loved items and locally produced crafts. They aim to make high quality affordable goods available locally.

The shop is opened and operated 5 days a week by dedicated community volunteers, and all proceeds are used to supplement the costs of youth and family activities run through the centre.

Family & Social Support Services

The Family Resource Centre works to improve the quality of life for local people through:

  • Promoting local awareness and providing essential information.
  • Developing community initiatives and offering support.

Shop Operations & Upskilling

  • The shop gives work experience and upskilling to many local residents.
  • The space was developed by the board of the family resource centre.
  • It prides itself on being a safe and comfortable community space for people to visit and shop.
