Today’s the day !

You’ll be one of millions of people to witness a spectacular solar eclispe. Weather permitting, in Offaly , you can expect it to start getting dark around 18:10pm and reach peak darkness at 19:10pm. During this period, animals will quieten, shadows will appear  and an eerie calm will descend across communities.

While it’s exciting and rare, safety is extremely important. Don’t look direcelty at the sun, without certified solar eclispe glasses or another safe solar viewing method – your normal sunglasses, binoculars or telescope just won’t offer your eyes enough protection.
