Welcoming North Cyprus to Offaly Local Development Company
We were delighted to welcome a local government delegation from North Cyprus to Offaly Local Development Company (OLDC).
The delegation, comprising elected representatives and senior municipal officials, has responsibility for a broad range of local authority services, including community development, environmental services, infrastructure, public health, social services and strategic planning.
Their visit focused on learning about OLDC’s role in supporting communities across County Offaly through programmes such as LEADER, Social Inclusion and Community Activation Programme (SICAP), the Rural Social Scheme and other publicly funded local development initiatives.
As part of the visit, the delegation toured The Factory – Ireland’s leading eco-friendly graphic design studio and printers. As a LEADER-funded project, The factory provided an excellent example of how investment in locally led enterprise initiatives can deliver lasting social economic and cultural benefits for rural communities.
It was a pleasure to share experiences, exchange ideas and showcase the positive impact of community – led local development across Offaly.
We thank the delegation for their visit and wish them every success in their continued work supporting communities in North Cyprus,
