National Social Prescribing Day

There was a great turn out at Tullamore Library to celebrate National Social Prescribing day on Wednesday 19th of March. It was a celebration of the people, community groups & organisations that make Social Prescribing possible. Social Prescribing assists people to link with community groups, activities and supports, tackling social isolation & loneliness that can have a negative impact on health. It was also an opportunity to launch the Art Exhibition ‘Creative Connections – Wellbeing through Creativity’ which displays pieces from Tullamore Women’s Shed, Tullamore Men’s Shed, The Social Prescribing Craft Group, The Wellness group at Tullamore Family Resource Centre & The Feinics Centre & Community Mental Health Service. The Exhibition will run until Monday 31st of March. The event finished with a fantastic performance from Chorus Connection Community Choir.
